The inspiration behind “The Esther Bracelet”

The Esther was the first bracelet I designed in the 31 Beads collection.
I looked everywhere for a piece of Jewelry that LK (my youngest daughter) could wear as a reminder to stay true to who God created her to be – even if she found herself standing alone.
Esther was a very ordinary girl. In fact, she was an orphan raised by her Uncle Mordecai. BUT she was chosen by God “for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14).

She must have felt so inadequate for the task she was assigned. She didn’t grow up going to “Queen School” preparing for her future.
She was just a Jew girl….BUT “Just a Jew” equals “chosen by the king”.
“Foolish, Weak, inadequate” equals “Chosen by the king”.
I want you to hear that loud and clear today – you are not “just this or just that”. You are chosen! Oh, how I wish that would drop into your heart from your head!
Try to picture Esther and how she must have felt on the day she was chosen.
Even though there was likely commotion and chatter all around, when the king locked eyes on Esther she heard and saw ONLY him. When you realize He has locked his eyes on you and called you by your name, all the background noise starts to fade away. His voice becomes the only one that matters.
Maybe your heart leans more towards fear than faith. Maybe you want to walk humbly and confidently with your King, but you’re just so timid! If you could only see the way He looks at you. Look up! Make eye contact with Jesus today. Take your eyes off of everyone and everything else and look to Him! He’s been looking towards you the whole time.
“For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
1 Corinthians 1:26-31
